HOW TO VOTE ABSENTEE BY-MAIL
Early Voting by Mail: Begins May 6, ends June 21
If requested ahead of time, absentee ballots will be mailed on May 6.
Last Day to Request an Absentee Ballot: June 10 by 5 p.m.
- This deadline applies to both online submissions and in-person submissions
Deadline for Return of Vote by Mail Ballots:
- June 21 by 7 p.m. if hand-delivered in-person
- Postmarked on or before June 21 and received by noon on June 24 if by-mail
To vote Absentee By-Mail, you must submit an application requesting an Absentee Ballot. You can do this either online, by mail, by fax, or by email.

Voters should request an Absentee Ballot as soon as possible so they can return their ballot before polls close on Election Day.

Early Voting Locations:
- All Arlington voters are eligible to vote at any location.
- Voters need an accepted ID.
- Voters mark and cast their ballot on the spot. They only need to bring an acceptable ID.

Alexandria
Office of Voter Registration and Elections, 132 North Royal St., Suite 100. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (except when it is closed for Memorial Day).
It has scheduled some extended and weekend hours as well:
- Monday, June 6, 8 a.m. — 8 p.m.
- Tuesday, June 7, 8 a.m. — 8 p.m.
- Saturday, June 11, 8 a.m. — 5 p.m.
- Sunday, June 12, 11 a.m. — 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, June 15, 8 a.m. — 8 p.m.
- Thursday, June 16, 8 a.m. — 8 p.m.
- Saturday, June 18, 8 a.m. — 5 p.m.
Drop boxes
There will be one at every polling place on primary day from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., and a 24/7 drop box outside the Office of Voter Registration and Elections from May 6 until 7 p.m. primary day.
Fairfax County
- Any registered Fairfax County voter may vote early at any Fairfax County early voting location.
- Early in-person absentee voting is available for the June 2022 Democratic Primary (8th Congressional District only)from May 6th to June 18that the following location:
